MVW: France – National

I am continuing my series to show the resplendent creations that designers and finalists collaborated on to bring to the Miss Virtual World 2011 Pageant.  These designs deserve to be seen by a wide audience, and show the diversity that is high fashion in SecondLife.  These designs reflect both RL inspiration and inner creativity of the designers involved in this major undertaking.  It is my hope that this project will bring some of that glory to more of SL, and that the designs will be both admired and purchased.

Donna Flora’s *REINE dress was worn as the national costume of France by Fauve Beaumont.  The dress is highly reminiscent of grand courtly dress worn in France during the time of Marie Antoinette, in which extremely wide panniers (side hoops) which extended several feet on each side were worn under gowns, so that the Queen presented a grand entrance with all eyes on her.  Tukinowaguma’s Elisee with White Flower (modified) hair fits the period perfectly, whilst the MARY jewelry set from Donna Flora continues the opulent beauty of the adornment of this stunning gown.

Details are prevalent everywhere on this dress, continued down to the ribbons and flowers on the lace gloves.

The series of bows down the trim bodice of the dress recall a portrait done of the Queen during her coronation.  The contrast of the beautiful shades of pink with the golds is stunning.

Here you can see the panniers and the beautifully parted skirt revealing softer shades of pink, glorious bows, and ribbon which appears to be spun from gold.

The adornment and details of this dress continue down the skirt all the way to the floor, with richly pleated scallops of fabric, fantastically intricate patterning and thoughtful additions in every imaginable way.  This truly is a dress fit for a queen.

Despite the size of the skirt, the dress moves very well, and definitely serves the purpose of keeping all eyes on you when you wear this design.

As ever, even the back of the gown is spared no details, with the addition of a lovely dark crimson bow at the waist that matches those on the sides.  The low back of the bodice is a lovely touch to a stunning gown.
